Getting Started with Heybounce
Welcome! We're excited to help you get started with Heybounce. This guide will walk you through the basics of getting started, including account setup, navigating the dashboard, and performing your first email verification.
1. Introduction
Our platform allows marketing and IT professionals to verify email addresses for validity through both a user-friendly web interface and an API designed for developers. You can:
- Validate single emails or verify them in bulk through batch processing.
- Upload CSV or XLSX files containing multiple email addresses for quick verification.
- Use custom filters to allow or block specific emails.
- Manage your team, API keys, and billing within the platform.

2. Running Your First Email Verification
Single Email Verification (Web)
You can verify individual email addresses directly through our web interface:
- From the Dashboard, navigate to the Single Email Verification section.
- Enter the email address you want to verify in the input field.
- Click Verify.
The platform will quickly return a response indicating whether the email is valid, invalid, or unknown, along with additional diagnostic information like whether the domain is valid or if the mailbox is full.

Batch Email Verification (Web)
To verify multiple email addresses, you can upload a CSV or XLSX file for batch processing:
- From the Dashboard, click on Batch Verification.
- Upload your CSV or XLSX file by clicking Upload File.
- Optionally, apply custom filters to allow or block specific emails.
- Click Start Verification to begin the process.
After the verification process is complete, you'll be able to download the results. We will also notify you via email when the batch verification is finished.

3. API Access
For developers, we provide a comprehensive API that allows you to integrate email verification directly into your applications or systems.
API Key Management
Before using the API, you need to generate an API key:
- Navigate to API Keys from your Dashboard.
- Click Generate API Key.
- Use this API key to authenticate your API requests.

The API allows you to validate single emails, submit batch verification jobs, and manage custom filters programmatically. Refer to the full API Reference for detailed information on endpoints, request formats, and examples.
4. Inviting Team Members
If you are an Admin, you can invite team members to your account and manage their permissions.
How to Invite Team Members
- Navigate to the Team section of the Dashboard.
- Click Invite Team Member.
- Enter the email address of the colleague you wish to invite.
- Assign a role (e.g., Admin, Member) based on their access needs.
- Click Send Invitation.
Your colleague will receive an invitation email to join your account and set up their login credentials.
Managing Roles and Permissions
You can control what level of access your team members have. This includes access to API keys, email lists, and billing information.
- From the Team section, click on a member's name.
- Use the dropdown to adjust their role, then click Save Changes.
5. Billing & Subscription Management
To manage your billing and subscription:
- Go to the Billing section in the Dashboard.
- Here, you can:
- View your current plan and usage.
- Upgrade or downgrade your subscription.
- Update your payment method and billing details.
